ABOUT ME

How I reached here
I know that learning a new way of doing things is a challenge, but anything and everything is possible with the right set of skills and abilities.
Progressing towards our goals means getting out of our comfort zone’s safety, which can be scary and daunting. Having a coach confidentially to share fears, hopes, highs, and lows makes this journey much easier.
In 1990 I was only 19, happy and content with everything I had going. I was in my second year of college, my sister, the carefree baby in the house, was in school, and my protective older brother who had just graduated from college; we were the soul of our small family and the heartbeats of our parents. My father, who always supported us in any way he could, was the family’s rock. While my mother, who was a little strict, I knew she would do anything for us. That was my entire world, just the five of us.
One winter afternoon, my life quickly changed; it was a phone call from my father’s friend. He called to inform us that my father just had a massive heart attack, he was in Mumbai, and he had taken a flight to Jaipur. That was the day my life changed. I went from being a happy, carefree college student to worrying about my father’s health and our family’s well-being. After a month, my uncle blindsided me about a ‘match’ from Nepal. I was overwhelmed by the entire conversation because I had not given marriage a thought, much less to a man from a place I had never even heard of.

Over the next few months, my life drastically changed. As luck would have it, I got married to that very man from Nepal. I moved from Jaipur to Birgunj, a small town in Nepal. I went from a world/family where everything was allowed to a strange place where men and women lead incredibly different lives. This was a significant change and challenge in my life.
Eventually, my husband, Vijay, and I moved to Kathmandu; we were in our own space. I had everything I could possibly want a loving and doting husband, two adorable kids, beautiful holidays, and an all-around happy life. Still, there in me was a girl who wanted to have her own identity, and that was when I gathered some courage and told Vijay I wanted to do something more. He was my support system, he fought with his parents, and as a result, I was eventually allowed to venture out on my own. I started with exhibitions for clothes; I quickly learned that it was not my calling.

Finally, in 2006, I started my own Travel Company, Shalimar Travels. I had very little to no experience in this field. I learned everything on the job. I poured my heart and soul into the company because it represented everything I was, I am, and I wanted to be. I grew my company from the ground up; it went from being an in-house ticket office for my family to one of the leading companies that dealt with outbound tourism in Nepal. I faced many challenges at work, but I made sure I came out of each having learned something. One of my most significant achievements as a Travel Planner was to introduce Corporate Incentive Groups in Nepal.
But the story did not end here for me; something was unfulfilled as if I had not achieved the purpose of my life entirely. At the start of the Pandemic, when everything came to a standstill, it gave me enough time and space to think. I realized my mission is to serve people to live their best life and be the person they want to be. I decided to do a course on being a life coach with Puja Puneet, following which I also took courses with Tony Robbins and Jack Canfield.
And finally, I am launching Avisrota - MAPS out your way.
I am genuinely excited as I discovered that we could all live the life we desire. I’ve always believed that the power is within us, and I’m here to help you do the same.
